Lapworth II — Conway Stewart Bronze
£60.00
This one doesn't fit neatly into any category, which is rather the point.
The Stratford III is a fully bespoke design — not a kit pen, not an off-the-shelf build, but a custom piece developed specifically to showcase exceptional materials in a form that lets them breathe. And the material here absolutely warrants it. This is Conway Stewart Nebula resin from original heritage stock, but in a darker, more mysterious colourway than its sibling — fragments of deep forest green, burnt amber and smouldering terracotta suspended in an almost black base that shifts from near-purple to dark chocolate depending on the light. Where the classic Nebula blazes with jewel-bright colour, this one broods. It's the same celestial reference point, just seen from somewhere darker and further out.
The clipless profile gives it an uninterrupted, almost sculptural silhouette — clean lines, no interruptions, just the material doing its thing from end to end. And then the brass section arrives and changes the conversation entirely; warm, substantial, with that beautifully ornate gold nib sitting proud above it like something from a different era. The twin brass bands on the cap are a quietly elegant detail that ties everything together without overplaying it.
This is a pen for someone who knows exactly what they want — something genuinely individual, made by hand, from materials that don't turn up just anywhere.
Fitted with converter, ready to ink straight away.
A fully bespoke design, entirely handmade in the West Midlands. One of a kind.
