Conway Stewart's Bronze acrylic is a magnificent match for it. The blank is a cascade of warm amber, burnt orange and deep cognac, shot through with irregular black fragments that catch the light like flecks of jet. It's richer and more intensely coloured than a typical tortoiseshell — deeper, more saturated, almost luminous when the light hits it — and the larger barrel of the Lapworth gives you more of that glorious pattern to appreciate.
