Kenilworth II — Horse Chestnut Burl

There's something almost autumnal about this one — and that's meant as the highest possible compliment.

Horse Chestnut Burl is one of those timbers that doesn't get nearly enough attention, and that's a shame because what it does is quite special. The body of this Kenilworth II glows with warm golden honey tones, shifting through pale straw and rich amber as the light moves across it, with that characteristic tight, cloudy burl figuring scattered throughout — little knots and eyes and swirling grain that give the surface an almost three-dimensional quality. It has a lightness and warmth to it that feels genuinely inviting. You just want to pick it up.

The Kenilworth II's larger format gives the blank real room to perform, and this one absolutely does. The fittings here are a deep gunmetal — that cool, dark chrome that sits somewhere between silver and steel — and it's a pairing that works brilliantly with the warm tones of the wood. Rather than the obvious gold-on-warm-wood combination, the gunmetal introduces a quiet tension that makes the whole piece feel more contemporary and considered. The faceted cap catches the light with clean, purposeful lines, and the matching dark chrome accents throughout hold the composition together with understated confidence.

Warm material. Cool hardware. A pen that quietly gets everything right.

Handcrafted. One of a kind. Ready for its desk.
